About me

You really want to know more about me? Huh. Odd. I rarely click on this page on other people’s blog, I don’t know why.

Well, I guess since you’re here I will regale you with stories of my high school athletic conquests. I airballed a free throw at the state basketball tournament one year. Not such a great memory. I guess when I say “athletic conquests” I meant stories of utter failure.

That didn’t take nearly as long as I thought it would. You’re still here? OK, for real this time.

My name is Clay W. Ginn (figured that out by yourself though, didn’t you?) and I’m a recovering farm boy. I didn’t do anything cool like bullseye womp rats with my T-16 in Beggar’s Canyon, I just drove a tractor. A lot.

I am married to my lovely wife of 15 years and we have four wonderful children. Most of the time. That’s not to say the number of children oscillates like a fan in the hot summer (which I hate [summer, not fans]), but that the children are wonderful most of the time. They have their moments when you want to open up their heads to see if the brain wasn’t installed correctly, but we still love them and are blessed to have them.

Currently I work for the best company in the D/FW metroplex, writing software for public safety. I’ve been there more than eight years, rapidly approaching 1/4 of my life. Crazy.

In addition to my regular job, I am also the Discipleship Pastor at Pin Oaks Christian Fellowship in Anna, TX. POCF is an awesome community of believers, where we try to make Jesus known and help people grow in relationship to Him. We’re growing like crazy (spiritually and numerically [not that numbers are so important {but the amount of people saved is important <QUADRUPLE PARENTHETICAL WIN!>}, but when the church grows spiritually, more people show up {usually, though not always}]).

I currently hold two degrees, a Bachelor of Science in Business Information Technology from Rogers State University and a Master of Science in Information Systems from Tarleton State University. I’m currently working on a Master of Divinity with an emphasis in Apologetics from Luther Rice University and hope to pursue a D.Min or PhD in the future. My wife also insists I want to get a BS in Operational Meteorology from Mississippi State, but that’s the child-inspired delirium talking. I do love school and all the reading that goes along with it. I’m a bit of a bibliophile, a trait I inherited from my mother. In inherited my good looks from my dad, which actually doesn’t bode well for me. Dad has eyebrows like the Archbishop of Canterbury, and his have wings like eagles.

So, there you have it. That’s what I’m going to tell you about me. If you want to know more, you’ll have to read through my postings on here. My interests mainly lean towards faith, apologetics, meteorology, and current events.
